Shepherd's Purse  

-Inherent characters-
One of "the seven spring herbs" of Japan, cooked in the rice porridge with other six herbs. It is sometimes called "Penpen-Gusa". "Penpen" is not a sound, but refers to the shape of the seed which resembles a pick used to play "samisen". You can make a rustling sound of seeds when you pick a seeded inflorescence and shake it near the ear. "Seri Nazuna Gogyo Hakobera Hotoke-no-Za, Suzuna Suzushiro, Korezo Nana-Kusa" .
