One of "the seven spring herbs" of Japan. The leaves and stems are covered with dense silver-white hairs. Grows in sunny places. The young shoots are edible. "Seri Nazuna Gogyo Hakobera Hotoke-no-Za, Suzuna Suzushiro, Korezo Nana-Kusa" .
