-Inherent characters-
A climber grows on other plants such as trees, and usually found on riversides or in the fields. The vines are strong and used for various folk crafts. Ground roots are used in cooking as starch(Kuzu-Ko), as well as in Chinese medicine. "Hagi-no-Hana, O-Bana Kuzu-Bana Nadeshiko-ga-Hana, Omina-Eshi, mata Fuji-Bakama, Asagao-no-Hana" (composed by Yama-no-Ue-no-Okura, Manyoshu Vol.8.).
