-Inherent characters-
Being one of "the seven autumn flowers", it is an essential subject in the automn scenery of highlands. Another name "Kaya" is said to be derived from "Kari-Yane(thatch roof)", made from the foliage of this species. "Hagi-no-Hana, O-Bana Kuzu-Bana Nadeshiko-ga-Hana, Omina-Eshi, mata Fuji-Bakama, Asagao-no-Hana" (composed by Yama-no-Ue-no-Okura, Manyoshu Vol.8.).
