-Inherent characters-
One of "the seven autumn flowers ". Another species of this genus, Patrinia villosa , is called "Otoko-Eshi". The root or whole plant of "Omina-Eshi" is said to have anti-inflammatory effect as well as other medicinal properties. "Hagi-no-Hana, O-Bana Kuzu-Bana Nadeshiko-ga-Hana, Omina-Eshi, mata Fuji-Bakama, Asagao-no-Hana" (composed by Yama-no-Ue-no-Okura, Manyoshu Vol.8.).
